Independent Component 1

LITERAL
(a) Write: “I, __________________________, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents ____ hours of work.”

  • I, Karina Tostado, affirm that I completed my independent component, which represents 45 hours of work.
(b) Cite your source regarding who or what article or book helped you complete the independent component.

  • Gladwell, Malcolm. Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference. Boston: Little, Brown, 2000. Print
  • Klickstein, Gerald. "The 5 Facets of Performances Preperation." The Musician's Way Blog. Oct. 2011. Web. 28 Aug. 2015
  • "Vocal Health - How to Keep Your Vocal Chords in Good Condition" Street Musician. 5 June 2011. Web. 4 Sept. 2015

(c) Update your hours in your Senior Project Hours link. Make sure it is clearly labeled with hours for individual sessions as well as total hours.

(d) Explain what you completed.

  • I helped out each of my 4 mentees individually and privately on things they needed help on. 3 of them wanted practice to enhance their performances for upcoming events and one of them just wanted to get back at singing. Every time we met, I would listen to them sing and provide them helpful recommendations as well as getting them to improve on their performance every time we meet.

INTERPRETIVE
Defend your work and explain its significance to your project and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.

  •  I chose as my independent component 1 to privately help people on their singing, specifically their performing. I get them to do exercises,  have a binder in which they have to fill out a sheet every time we have met.

APPLIED
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better?  Please include specific examples to illustrate this.

  • I really got to learn different techniques and ways to enhance your performance. Also, I got a glimpse of how tedious it is to learn every person's different style of singing
